She looks like an angel
Walking on air
And carries herself like a queen
Loves me with all
Of her heart and her soul
While making me feel like a king
She’s everything sweet
I could ever desire
A beauty in every degree
Attentive and loving
To my every need
She’s head over heels for me
When I’m by her side
It’s fine in the moment
A picture of love without strife
But when I’m not with her
It comes back to you
For these past twenty years
Of my life
It’s you that I think of
When I am alone
Or when I’m awake in my bed
It’s you that still haunts
All my thoughts in the day
I can’t get you out of my head
She runs herself ragged
To make a fine home
But she always looks like a star
She loves me like crazy
And always has time
She’s so much more pure
Than you are
I never could find
A better true lover
And never will quite understand
Why I am so torn
Between roses and thorns
And not doing all that I can
There’s something amiss
In my dull little world
A picture that’s knocked
Out of place
The fact is you’ve never
Been out of my mind
I’m constantly seeing your face
I see you in moments
When life is so grand
And I should be happy instead
But thoughts of you fall on me
Like grains of sand
Tipping these scales
In my head
A life out of balance
Or love out of sync
A matter of living a lie
The reason for twisting
The way that I think
Since the day that
I told you goodbye
It’s you that I see
Through these wonderful times
A secret I keep deep inside
A past love affair
Playing tricks on my mind
A longing that I cannot hide
So why am I locked
In a place I can’t leave
Or a time I can never return
The woman I have
Is the light of my world
But it’s for you that
My true love still burns
It’s you that I think of
When I am alone
Or when I can’t sleep in my bed
It’s you that still haunts
All the thoughts in my days
I can’t get you out of my head
