Tossed and Turned

Tossed and Turned

written by: Godfrey Holy

Lend me a thread to climb out of this
abyss.
Shine a light where broken hearts
arise.
For time is a wayward raven I must
escape.
My heart he devoured, my mind he
craves.

Lend me eyes for mine have run out of
tears.
A shovel to bury bygones and embrace
reality.
Lend me your golden
heart,
for mine has turned into
coal.

Lie to me about time being a medicine
man,
of his passage and healing chants, tick
tock!
Lend me your godlike smile that awakes the
dead,
your divine sleep and all her glorious
dreams.

Tell of naked sun and of fog soon to
pass,
of chatter and patter and merriment in
waiting.
For mine is a waning
faith.
Tossed and turned by turbulence of
life.
