The Dandelion
written by: hedgehog
Hopes and dreams
Hopes and dreams
Dry pale and windswept
My place amongst the tree roots
Burying my roots through stony ground
Earth’s tether holds me there
The sun has scorched my leaves
My yellow head droops down but
My time will come
To float up to cerulean skies
Swallows’ song echo through the trees
They soar so free in a clear blue sky
Above the trees soft green blanket
Bees caress my yellow head as
My puff ball forms exploding
A cyan sky welcoming my seeds
Flying free to lodge in cracks and earth
As the dandelion’s cycle starts again
