Burnt Christmas

Burnt Christmas

written by: Melisa

Tasting soot
breathing difficulties
house burnt down
water bomb bursts
through the sky
charcoal sticks
used to be trees
presents destroyed
no mistletoe
nothing left
Where do we sleep?
No one else around
burnt belongings
on the ground
cracking
hissing
sizzling sounds
memories of laughter
turkey and
Christmas pudding
whirl around
