Deadsilent

Leaf of light
just for a moment
to fall or maybe float
a little into silence
lower lower
underground
where winter waits
long longing winter
sewed in here
a silent death
waiting for the call
NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:
There’s a Dutch word indicating no wind at all: bladstil – when no leaf (blad) at all makes any movement (stil). I think there’s no english equivalent, other than ‘deadsilent’. I figured it also a relevant image: autumn leafs express nearby death as well as upcoming life

As Dutch as can be; early retired coach, proud husband, father of five and granddad of four, love to walk a few paths with others, write with passion, try to look every day with more compassion.
I write mostly haiku, triggered by its limitations. Also write poems, often commenting pictures, and always amazed by the merging effect of text and vision.
Writing in English is a challenge.
