Dusk To Dawn

Dusk to Dawn

Dusk’s satin shoes step
elegantly into the
finishing story
of a fine Summery day,
creasing the air pearl to slate.

The beckoning dawn…
breaks with symphonies
of Skylarks and Wrens.
Hawthorns prick Prussian blue dew
as Dandelions flutter…

Teardroped, citron beads…
press-stud pose lush lime-green lawns,
to be vacuumed by
Satsuma-orange sunrays.

Shimmer, quiver smiles,
patchwork of corn-coloured heads
explode in circles,
ignited by God’s gold light.
No scents, secrets…Just delights.

Dusk’s velvet gloves
creep over proud tangerine dots
cushioned by realms of twilight.

NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:

Started as a single Tanka…ended up as 3 linked Tankas and a 3 line ending to complete.!
