Guinea Pig

written by: Dr. Alok Kumar Ray

treating me lightly
like a fallen leaf
at the threshold of whirlpool
and encashing on my
humble backups unheard
utilizing the porous border
that I admire honestly
to be my best companion
exists to explore and examine
the blowing facts and figures,
you and your trusted comrades
in broad daylight
initiated steps in profound disguise
to carry out trials on me
on new things, new proposals
just agreed upon circulars many,
as i am the guinea pig
born and brought up clandestinely
to laid my evangelical shoulder
for others to climb the ladder
of success, triumphs
to immolate my life
for others’ well-being
opt for green pasture to survive
and i the midnight child
of the stubborn time
lives only to witness the happenings
accrue testimony valuable
that’s profitable and promising
but not of mine.
