The Best Hookup

The Best Hookup

written by: The Barefoot Cajun

It was a midnight hookup
A Louisiana Cajun in DC feeling forlorn
Missing the flat prairie land and flowing latte colored bayous
A far cry from this Washington DC
megalopolis
The city with its lights fascinated me
The most powerful city in the world
Historic buildings everywhere
Monuments telling historical stories
An aura of never ending history
However I longed for my cottage on the prairie
A land so simple yet complex, Simplexity
An exotic land of sounds, smells, family, people and French cuisine
We met on a gay chat app featuring:
Older men
Traveling men
Men looking for one night of pleasure
Male on male sex
The nation’s capital is a place teeming with lots of gay/bisexual men
Hotels, apartments, condos and co-ops full of us
Usually I’m lucky
Tonight is no different
I met him at a swanky expensive hotel downtown
His suite was on the thirteenth floor
Tonight that was my lucky number
I knocked
He answered
His male baritone voice thrilled me
Sounded like an Australian opera singer
He opened the door wearing a pair of running shorts and a tee shirt
A blond guy
Quite firm from what I could see
Nipples pushing through a white tee shirt
Only fit men can wear those
White shows all major flaws
From what I noticed he had none
I could tell he wasn’t sporting underwear
He was scantily clad
I was into this guy
He had a geeky name, Herman
Mine is equally geeky, Merlin
Herman and Merlin are names one doesn’t usually connect with hot steamy man to man sex
He invited me to sit down
Offered me a glass of red wine
I took him up on it
We chatted about our families
Both single guys in our late fifties
I got the feeling this was not gonna be a night of passion
However it turned out better
He invited me to stay for the night
We slept together spooning
No sex
Just two men hungry for male bonding, needing some masculine love
Herman invited me to come to Australia
We’ll see
I invited him to visit me on the prairie
That’s more likely.
In the morning we hugged
I felt a lightness in my step
Not in love
Not hot sex
I made a friend
That’s the best hookup
