Original Poetry

by Anne G

The world is new, the day reborn;

inception, birth, a genesis.

Sunrise in the east appears;

a golden orb all shiny new.

The morning smiles and I smile back;

the gift of life to be unwrapped.

Awakened, every single cell;

synapses of a hungry brain.

All troubles that weigh on my heart,

are melted by a radiant sun.

Excitement for what may unfold;

the possibilities untold.

A fresh new start, to be, to do;

another chance to live life full.

The hours, minutes quickly pass;

each and every second count.

Seize the day,

the world is new.

Why write?
I write because I am:
Driven to distraction by the inequities of the society in which we live.
Motivated by cruelty, abuse, ignorance and indifference.
My intention: To poke, prod and provoke!
