The Aftermath
written by: Todd Humes
the aftermath
of the storm
I sit on the edge
of a curb under
the jaundice moon
light
that once
shared the streets with
neighbors now in fear
by a spread from
Wuhan to the block
as still as a mouse like
I’m the last
of us with
a lifeless puddle
reflecting that
feverish moon
glowing within is a
a penny in a puddle
