Accidental Poet

Accidental Poet

written by: Flash

It’s really quite a thrill,
When someone smiles at what you’ve done.
An “accidental poet”,
But I’m not the only one.
I can’t imagine anyone,
Without something to say.
They yearn to spit it out,
But they just don’t know the way.
Some don’t think they’re good enough,
To wield the mighty pen.
So they bottle up their words inside,
And never write again.
Some just seem to have a gift.
The words that they write, dance.
They write of raindrops, buttercups,
And fate, all left to chance.
There’s a poet inside each of us,
But we ain’t all Mother Goose.
Who knows what wondrous things we’d read,
If the whole world just cut loose.
