Don’t Tell Me

Don’t tell me it’s okay to sleep,
for I will sleep forever.
My bed is made of sand.
Don’t tell me it’s okay to cry,
for I will cry until I’m dry.
My waterfalls are endless.
Don’t tell me it’s okay to sin,
for I will sin in excess.
My veins will collapse.
Don’t tell me it’s okay to feel,
for I will feel until it kills me.
My empathy will be my assassin.
Don’t tell me it’s okay to love,
for I will love too much.
My heart will grow too large.
Don’t tell me it’s okay to write,
for I will write everything I see.
My mouth will never open again.
Don’t tell me it’s okay to die,
for I will die tonight.
My will has your name in it.
