Easter Bells

Easter arrived, holy day of Jesus Christ’s resurrection
Cheerful festival and holiday for people of good will
Paschal greetings, Easter eggs and the Easter lily
Easter parades, the Easter Bunny and egg hunting
What a joy to greet Easter, with bells announcing it.

Hear the bells on Easter morning, hear the bells with me
Ah, how they ring! To all the spheres of our skylines!
And far beyond! The bells of America and the world!
Listen good, hear the Liberty Bell from Philadelphia
Hear the Great Paul and the Big Ben of London
The Tsar Bell! Saint Peter’s Bell! The Olympic Bell!
Sigismund! The Mingun Bell! The World Peace Bell!
Ah, how they ring! How they sing! As carillons by now!
Bravely joined by bells from all corners of the world
They, the carillons, uniting us all in love and peace
How they ring! How they sing! On this Easter morning!

Easter! The resurrection Sunday! Light out of darkness!
With optimism the world shall be a better place for us
Russia, Ukraine, Syria, so many other dangerous places
Let’s pray freedom is a new resurrection to all of them
Let’s pray above all for peace, love and genuine humanity.
