Peyton

written by: theRavensproctor

She came in the confines of January
In a month, where everything starts anew
Bitter cold making frost on windows
Subdued thoughts of failure
Whispering in the hallway
From our conjoining families
On the 13th day
When my heart was an apparatus of pieces
My head tortured by the words in my notebook
"Don't become your father"
And I'm still frightened
In a time where I was more lost than so
Wavering in the wind like a dandelion
In a year where love had waned
With a relationship, coming to a climax
But I was here, waiting on your entrance
As her and I exited each other's life
Because I knew we would be tied together forever
I was everything but sane
Everything but alive
Then you reached into a corpse
With your infantile fingers
And fixed something that had been broken
Since I understood what broken could be
