Love Isn’t Audacity

written by: Kalpna Singh-Chitnis

Knowing that love can’t be insured,
I built my castle in a fault zone.

Love is worth its risk.

It may surprise you
but my castle still stands

The tremors never touch the walls,
which keep the legends safe.

How could she love this world
in the absence of love?

I didn’t know until the day I saw

the cactuses growing flowers
in the desert.
