Mind, Lost

I lost my mind once
and found it in the
bottom of a bag,
thrown in the closet
with remnants of
tobacco, lip balm,
and spearmint gum.
I’m lucky I even
found it, I searched
for months, went back
to all the places I
could have left it.
I thought someone
might have stolen it,
and as soon as I
gave up, I found it.
Funny how things
work out like that.
I thought
I was
going crazy.
